Minimum fan speed at MacBook Pro

If you have any experience with loudness of fans or high minimal fan speed with your MacBook Pro, this could be solution for your problems:

 1) Uninstall Fan Control app (maybe you or some previous user has installed it on your system):

Please follow these instructions to uninstall FanControl permanently:
  1. Remove the following files and folders (both on your start disk):
        /Library/StartupItems/FanControlDaemon
        /Library/PreferencePanes/Fan Control.prefPane
     (You will be prompted for the Administrator's password when deleting these items.)
  2. Reboot
  3. Reset the System Management Controller (SMC). Please follow these links for instructions: Portables, Mac Mini, Mac Pro
2) To repeat the last step of the first step - reset SMC. Before starting your MacBook Pro, hold left shift, control, option and power key at the same time for a few seconds and release them at the same time. Then turn your MacBook Pro on.

3) If you have installed smcFanControl, then reinstall it.

4) If the fans are still loud while CPU load is low, then you have to probably open the bottom case and clean the fans manually.

These instructions worked for me on my MacBook Pro (8.2 15" Early 2011 with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.3) after cleaning my fans twice and few hours of surfing for the help.

Nie že by som bol veľký milovník kávy, ale mám ju rád. Resp. stále sa ju učím piť spôsobom, aby som nebol na nej závislý a aby káva mi chutila ako nápoj. Našťastie viem, že je to možné. V byte máme stroj Braun na prekvapkávanú kávu cez papierový filter a po pár mesiacoch používania som zistil, že mi tá káva z neho vôbec nechutí. Vyriešil som to pridaním mlieka (laktosefrei) alebo umelým sladidlom. Doma na Slovensku máme jednoduchú malú espresso mašinku a pri troche neskromnosti poviem, že s ňou viem spraviť celkom dobrú kávu na nedeľné poobedie. Dobré espresso je ale dosť drahá záležitosť a preto som občas nejak pretrpel tú šálku kávy, ktorú som preplnil umelými sladidlami. Minulý týždeň som si povedal, že umelých sladidiel mám dosť. Nerobia dobrotu môjmu tráviacemu traktu. A hneď nato mi došlo, že budem musieť vyriešiť prípravu kávy tak, aby mi chutila bez prísad. Narazil som na dobrý blog Viktora Klima (aj a hlavne o káve ). ... Shenandoah River

“Almost heaven, West Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River”   John Denver: Take Me Home, Country Roads Shenandoah National Park is relatively close to NYC. It was May and we already knew that we were moving to Boston at the beginning of June. We only had a couple of weeks to visit this park by car since the distance from Boston would be too ... distant. Sure, there was a lot to pack and do but the mountains simply couldn’t wait. We hit the road early in the morning on May 22nd. The visit of West Virginia was not optional. We made a stop at Harpers Ferry.  We had dinner at a restaurant along the river and of course we made a quick stop at the Appalachian Trail Visitor Center (unfortunately it was closed due to COVID). iMac G3: Mac OS X 10.4.11

So my goal to install Mac OS X Tiger has come true. Firstly I needed Tiger on CD's and that was a big problem because you can buy Tiger mostly on DVD although there are also some CD versions but very expensive. But I was lucky because friend of my friend, Neuromanc, lent me this very rare 4-CD version. So thanks again :-). My iMac is not officially supported because it has no FireWire. But you can override this with software XPostFacto . I downloaded and installed the latest version so I could use it with Mac OS X 10.3 (the previous versions worked only with OS 9). I erased HDD entirely before the installation just to be sure. After first restart the installation continued from other CD's. The installation process took approximately one hour and ran without problem. After registration the update process started-up and took another hour or more.
